Head Massage
This is the treatment the spa is named for. You lie down; a wash basin waits at the head of the bed. Warm water is poured through your hair, slowly, and the massage begins there, at the scalp, before moving to the face. There is no table to sit up at, no switching rooms, no part of the hour that asks anything of you. Most of what happens is warmth, water, and pressure, in that order.
What a head massage is good for
Most people book it for one of two reasons: they want an hour with nothing in it, or they want their hair washed by somebody else. This is the one that gives you both. There is no position to hold, no conversation to keep up and no clock to watch, and you leave with your hair dried and finished rather than damp, so the hour fits before dinner or before going back to a desk. It is an easy treatment to try first if you have never booked anything like this: nothing comes off but your shoes.

- Do I need to wash my hair before I come?
- No. The wash is the first part of the treatment, not something to do beforehand.
- Will my hair be wet when I leave?
- No. It is rinsed, dried and blown out before you go.
- How long should I book?
- 45 minutes covers the wash and the scalp. 60 and 90 minutes give the face and the neck more time.
- Is the face included?
- Yes. The face and the scalp are one treatment at one price, and the time you choose covers both.
- Is it all right to fall asleep?
- Yes, and most people do, somewhere between the wash and the scalp. Nothing in the hour needs you awake for it.
- Can I add cupping or hot stones?
- Yes, to any session, when you book or on the day. Cupping is $25 and hot stones are $15.
